COUN 530 Assessment: Theory and Practice – Cognitive and Learning Skills - A Life Span Approach (3 credits)

Prerequisites: An undergraduate course in statistics or permission of the Program Director or designee.

Provides students an in-depth introduction to the field of cognitive assessment throughout the life span. This course will help students develop the knowledge base to become "informed consumers" of cognitive assessments. Students will learn to analyze, interpret, and evaluate cognitive assessment reports and recommendations. Students will learn to use this knowledge to better guide, assist, and help the clients, students, and families they will work with. Students will become familiar with the IEP assessment, diagnosis, and planning process.
